WHY CHICKENS CROSS ROADS

During more than sixty years as a professional artist, I have created artwork in a wide variety of mediums. For the past several years, my main medium has been printed metal signs. My artwork, whatever the medium, always has a message for the viewer.

Chickens have appeared in my artwork since early childhood, when my brother and I had a favorite pet chicken. Junior would come when called and he taught himself to crow. Over the years, I have created many images of chickens in a variety of art mediums, most recently, as chicken signs.

The Chicken Crossings signs were inspired by signs seen along country roads to alert drivers to animals who might be crossing. Each of my chicken signs has a chicken image and a positive message. My intention is for the cheerful chicken signs to remind people they have choices in life.
