More than 50 years ago, I designed a New Year’s card with an image of an hourglass and the message, “time to every purpose under heaven.” In 2022, I updated and adapted that hourglass image, and modified the message to reflect my concern with the way democracy is under attack in the United States, and to express my hope for resolution for the wars and conflicts in countries around the world.

I created the “Time For Peace” sign series for eight countries including the Ukraine, Israel and Palestine. Each hourglass sign is in the colors of that country’s flag. One additional sign is for the United States with the message, “Time for Liberty and Justice and Autonomy for All.”
